turbo itb's
JalopySiR, I never knew the 5-valve 4AGE came in a turbo form. I thought it was a 160 hp ITB setup with fake-VTEC? My Toy knowledge is less than complete, but I've never heard of such a beast.

who makes these imaginary rules that its for all motor only? i guess nissan is stupid since they have ITB's on the skyline and the sr20 GTi-R motor. worth it? probably not. for all motor only? thats what ignorant people say

When it comes to Hondas, ITBs are for NA, not boost. Suck that up, stunnas, because tuning a SD system for the zero vacuum at part throttle conditions with any measure of driveability is a big fat pain in the ***, EVEN when you have a stand alone that plays off TPS settings. It's just like putting a huge carburetor on a small engine, you kill off any and all part throttle response in order to have good WOT characteristics. If you haven't noticed, every wonderful well thought out example of why turbo ITBs are the ideal setup came factory on a MAF equipped car.
When the stock Honda intake manifold - ******* pick one, any one - puts more to the ground that you can handle on the street, turbo SD ITBs is just an exercise in technologically advanced masturbation.

edit: Yeah, that stuff's sitting on my floor because I jerk off a lot. So sue me.

one or 2 models of the 4age that had itbs was Speed density based, its not uncommon for people to turbo those.
tuning turbo itbs would be no different than tuning NA itb's. it would take a standalone. im actually working with a friend on doin this on his prelude. mild boost on a 10:1 compression built h22 with some custom cams, blah blah.. our biggest issue is how to make the atts work with the aem ems, not tuning. keep it speed density based, but with a throttle base FUEL map (keep the ign SD) with a correction for boost/vacuum.

Mr. Davis
I apologize for not clarifiying, I meant commonly turbocharged by "tuners". I was simply stating that these setups are common, as you stated-on MAF equipped vehicles. Or Vehicles that came with ITBs from the factory. On a Honda, howerevr, I agree with you-in that they are superfluos.
I also very much enjoyed your summary of the issue.
