Default Turbo issues!

I have a 1993 del sol with a d16y7 and eBay turbo. Car starts and idles nicely. It will drive perfectly for 30sec-min then start missing and bogging. Car has new high flow fuel pump, fuel filter, ngk plugs gapped at .30 and wires. Anyone have any ideas?

Is it tuned or did you just slap it on and go?

Which injectors are you running?

It's tuned on chrome and I'm not sure what injectors are in it.

Try jumping a connection and see which code gets thrown if the light came on.

Professionally tuned, or just something you slapped together? How do you not know what injectors are in your own car? Do you have a wideband gauge installed? Knowing what the answer is going to be...why don't you?

I bought the car already turbo'd and not running. Fuel pump and filter got it running but it runs perfect for about a minute while driving then starts cutting out and popping. It'll idle fine forever. Apparently was professionally tuned on chrome is what I was told.

Gotcha, so you broke rule #1 and bought another man's project. Serious question: Is this your first aftermarket turbo car?

There's a good chance the previous owner lied to you. Take it to a professional tuner. Pay them to tune it properly for you. Get rid of Chrome.

Do a one over of all the parts and make sure everything is fastened correctly and that you have all the necessary parts needed for a turbo setup. If you don't know anything about it, then looks like you got some serious studying to do or pay someone else to do it for you

THEN take it to get a professional tune, but even then who knows how long the turbo /whatever other questionable parts will last.

Buying another's project is fine if you know what the hell your doing. Frank recommends it, actually, because of the shear amount of cost savings if done correctly.

I agree, but many people that buy them don't know what they're getting into.

Cost savings - I'm on board with that one

Check CEL and make sure everything is properly installed, check MAP and TPS and properly tune it

A finished project, maybe, sure, but this...this is pretty clearly not that.

check your fuel pressure Same thing happend to me when I first put my b16 together turned out to be just a bad fuel washer, I used the incorrect one which was blocking fuel to the rail causing a very similar issue
