Default turbo ignition question

I am running 7psi on my b16a and I have noticed that when the motor heats up it will begin to studder a little at low rpm's mostly (when it begins to boost). I was just wondering if this could be fixed by new plugs or if you think that it is a ignitor or coil problem. thanks for any info.

How do you know its an ignition problem?? IF you sure it is ignition than yes the shudder could be your ignitor getting weak, you coil is weak, you cap or rotor, or you spark plugs. But what are you running for fuel?? It could be that your running alittle rich or lean when you first see boost.

What engine management are you using, throw us a bone here.

what up..

i seen this problem before on my boy's civic hatchy
and this looks like what it could be..
regardless of your engine management system..

with a forced induction system, you are pumping compressed air through your cylinders and this compressed air gets even more compressed in the pistons. this causes *knocking*.. the temperature of the air is too high.. the lower the octane of the fuel, the less compression you need before the gas spontaneously combusts.. basically it actually ignites the fuel before the spark plug fires. no good.
running on a higher octane fuel might help... but if you run too much boost you might want to lower your compression ratio.

besides, keep in mind the idea that you need to let your turbo have time to spool.. the turbine needs to catch up to about 150,000rpm before it actually produces the boost. believe it or not, one way to fix this is to have a smaller turbo.. but you probably wouldn't wanna do that...

a wastegate would allow your turbo to reduce the lag, or 'stutter' you speak of.. and it prevents it from spinning too fast at a high speed... if the pressure gets too high the wastegate bypasses some exhaust from around the turbine blades.

maybe you knew this already.. but if not, hope it helps!!

Yeah...detonation is could be caused by lower octane gas. Which is what he's explaining but if that were the case it would happen alot more...almost all the time. SO...i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that its detonation because of a lean atmoshere in the cylinders.

But we'll have to see what the fuel/ignition setup is and how many psi the wastegate is set at?

I am running hondata 3b not yet tuned, there is only 4psi at the intake manifold, and I have replaced the ignitor recently, but I still have the same plugs and I am not sure of the gap. I just ran emmisions and passed perfectly so I was not running to lean or to rich. Oh and the fuel is walbro 255 and rc 550cc's. Everything that I can think of would have to be plugs, but I am not sure if plugs would have that big of an effect.

well than i'd check your rotor, cap, coil, and spark plug gap. there's only so many parts that make up for an ignition setup and i'm gonna say its prolly your ignitor or coil most likely.

yeah I am pretty sure that I am going to end up getting a new dizzy because this one keeps giving me problems. But thanks for your info and suggestions and more will be appriciated.

Getting it tuned should definitely help
