Default turbo identification question

I was wondering if there's anyway to identify garrett internals? I had my CTR head up for trade2 on another forum and someone offered me a spfab manifold and a turbo. He's sayinng its ebay housing with garrett internals. Anyway to identify the internalscause as off now he can only offer me to call previous owner. Thanks in advance.

On my gt30r there is a little plaque near the oil return/feed ports with the model number. Its not on the compressor housing or the exhaust housing. It's on the part between them with the oil feed and return lines. I'm pretty sure that'll tell you what cartridge it is.

Ah. those are only plated on the GT-R series. That does not explain whether or not the internal components of the cartridge are actual Garrett parts. Most E-bay turbos have issues with Garrett internal installations, but it depends upon which E-bay turbo you picked up.

Honestly. I'd just run it, and pray for the best. Next time around, get the real thing from the jump.

Good to know. If you run it and you start to run into problems, the rebuild kits are cheap.

^^ Cool. No need to rush. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
