Turbo Help!
whats up honda tuners. this may sound funny but even though i dont own a honda but all my friends do, i cam to this site for help because they all told me that people here know there ****. so here is what im asking. its time to boost my car. im putting together a custom turbo kit for my car. i wanted to know what you guys thought of a tail 35 wastegate and a t3t4 garret a/r50 compressor housing w/a/r63 exh w/standard turbine for quick spool but w/ 11degree clip for top end flow. does anybody here have this turbo? i will only be boosting 7psi until i build my motor and drop my crazy 11.5.1 comp. what type of numbers does this turbo put out on full boost or how much whp is it good for. any feedback would help. thanks guys. pc

Your engine is going to ******* suck, cause it doesn't have vtech, didn't you know that only hondas have vtech, wtf, I bet you're going to get eaten by neons while you're road-racing.

Re: Turbo Help! (PHiZ)
HAHAHA i have a 2002 celica gts. i have a form of vtec. Well not vtec but more close to ivtec. My cam switch over is at 6,000rpms and I shift around 8,300rpms.
PHiZ, dont diss buddy i have taken out many honda swaped cars in my area. as a matter of fact all b18 motors and b16 as well. o yeah and h22 swaps. i ran 14.2 on streets tiers with just intake exhaust with my first time at the track. but this is not the racing fourm. so back to the turbo help. thanks

dumbass
and as for the celica turbo...just go with a damned SC61....
It's proved itself on too damned many cars to not look into it. And not just hondas either.
you rev pretty high, have a nice flowing head....get it

What did you do for the "FMU" on the returnless fuel system? This is kinda embarrasing but I put a t3/t4 on a....ahh..focus sedan..ya. Anyway I used a rising rate fmu for new mustangs. it's a box that raises fule pressure based on IM pressure, basicly jsut an electronic version of a Vortech or whatever. It's kinda cool to have all the pressure/rate adjustments right in the glove box, then you look over and see a blue oval and want to jump right out

Re: (Bailhatch)
Ok, so we're dealing with a celica GTS. VVLTI ain't vtech yoh!
What are your options as far as running different coil packs? Is there any way to "turn down" the heat rating if you need to? Maybe an aftermarket Knock sensor?
Returnless fuel system? Cool, like on the D17 and... K-series maybe? dunno. some ppl have gotten around this by tapping the mani for secondary injector(s) (your mileage may vary)
to avoid confusion, I would call the electronic dealy an injector driver, or addition injector computer, or whateve, personally FMU has conotations of the rising rate vacuum setups.
You've got a 1.8L putting out 180~200 HP? That's going to require a decent amount of compression, which is your enemy when doing hack-tuning of a turbo, so don't skimp on fuel managment.
Maybe an HKS f-con V, A'pexi Power FC, or AEM EMS. Maybe something that can drive additional injectors, if you need to take that route...
Or you could break down and buy a kit... when pricing, and you see the high prices, don't forget that you're paying also for all the R&D that went into the kit.
maybe research what kind of an upgrade path there is for your drivetrain... Does someone make a beefy clutch? What about axles, if you end up blowing axles left and right, does someone market beefed up axles?
Do you have a good fabricator available, for the custom plumbing, exhaust etc.
Now, find out you compression, I dunno if you need flow data, and find some of the geniuses on here that can read and understand compressor maps, and then let them size a turbo for ya.
Maybe that will give you some perspective(s) on your project.
Oh yeah, and your VVTLI-ECH ain't **** y0h!
