Default Turbo GSR running on E85 having rough idle

i read some threads on this site about e85 before i actually use it.....i got a stock gsr motor with a stock b16a head 550cc injectors 255 walboro fuel pump 57 trim t3t04 turbo on 7 lb and running on crome the car is untuned (yea i know already got the flame suit on so go ahead and say it) the chip i have on the ecu was street tuned for a stock gsr with a 50 trim turbo on 10lb with 450cc injectors it ran fine with 93 octane and when i used the e85 it ran like crap. it ilded really rough like its about to die and when im about to ease off the clutch to move forward on 1st gear it started to bog until i reach to 2k rpm and it ran fine i was just wondering if anyone thats running e85 is having this problem? i want to get my car tuned this summer with e85 but if it does this with boosted cars then im just gonna run 93 octane

Hmm... Are you serious? You are untuned, but it at least idled with 93 octane. You pumped E85 into the tank and you are expecting it to idle and run the same?

You are going to have to run 93 oct until you get tuned for E85. If you do some research you will see why.

i know i need it tuned but in order for me to drive it to the person to tune it on e85 i need to fill it up with e85 and i was just wondering how will it run with it for now i just filled up only 2 gallons cuz 93 was $3.79 and e85 was $2.96 so i was like wth i should try it out since im gonna get tuned for it

you do understand e85 requires 30% more fuel than regular gas, right?

lol, dont drive it with the E85 in it untuned, your car is running real lean right now. Park it and drain the E85 and put gas back in it until its time to tune it.

I must be lucky, I brought 5 gal of E85 home and drained my gas and when I uploaded a Base P72 map my car idled/ran really well, was just very lean.

correction it was 40% but when i read about the faq on e85 on this site it said "No modification is needed to run E85, a stock honda fuel system will work." https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1812349

so your car was running lean? well the car is on E now so hopefully nothing didnt go wrong *knocking on wood really hard*

Don't drive the car anymore till it's tune for e85. The reason it has rough idle is because of lean misfire.
With e85 it will need more fuel and timing. It needs the advance timing for the extra fuel needed to burn. Your timing is way off and fuel might be way to lean. Tuning is the real key to POWER.

Dude, listen to me. I've tuned quite a few cars on E85 to date (including my own), so this isn't out my *** or from what I've read.

If you want your car tuned on E85, you either need to have a basemap made specifically for E85, or you need to drive to the tuner on 93, then drain and refill with E85.

You can't take stock gasoline based maps and just pour E85 in. If that were the case, then what's so special about a flex fuel vehicle and why can't everyone just pump it in? You've read that the stock Honda system can run it...it can, but it needs to be tuned for it! If you run E85 on straight gasoline based maps your car will run dangerously lean.

You've been warned....
