not sure about the 60-1 on the D16 the SC50 will support high 300whp/400whp @ high boost more than likely. AR Fab's d16 made like 398whp @ like 30psi on the SC50. The SC60 (similar to the run of the mill Garrett T3/T04E 60 trim) is what ill be running on my motor. It should be able to support those higher hp numbers ur looking for and Turbodcx has ran a 60 trim on his D16 and made some good #'s. It's funny because when I was choosing a turbo it was hard to decide because not many people run big turbos on D's

I'm going with an SC50 .48 A/R. I bought it from Boosted-Hybrid. It's brand new and has a custom 4 bolt exhaust housing. Should be good for around 400whp and a VERY FAST spool.

The t3 60 trim is an excellent turbo for a street d series. However, its just not engough for 400whp

Now I'm re-reading your post and you say t3 60-1???? Do you mean t4 60-1???? AFAIK their is no t3 60-1. Their is a t3 60 trim and a t3 super 60.

yes there is a T3/60-1... it's a T04 compressor side with the 60-1 wheel with a T3 turbine such as...

http://store.yahoo.com/cheaptu....html

T4/60-1 is the same with a T4 turbine...

Thats a t3/t4. The compressor wheel however is a T4 in your link. What the turbine side is does not affect what the compressor side is called. So theirfore their is no 60-1 T3.

SC50 too small? You just said all you want is 350-450 which is right in the SC50's efficiency range. It's just the right size for that amount of power and will be able to spool faster than bigger turbos.

Reccomendation?

SC50 with the .63ar turbine and stage 3 wheel.

The 60-1 is a little too big for your goals, and will just limit you in other areas (spool up).

The SC50 with the .48 turbine is too small for 400ish hp, but with the .63ar it will be perfect. We've seen a 50 trim turbo with these specs do 500whp...so its definetly good for you.

On a SOHC keeping the stock redline of 7000rpm the .48 A/R should be ideal for a good powerband and quick spool. The power won't choke at those rpms. The .48 A/R should make 350-400 WHP. Precision rates it at 450 crank hp.

I'm not doubting you, but I have yet to see a .48 turbine go to 400whp...I guess I'll have to see it to beleive it.

Wow its like Bryson read my mind, thats exactly the same set-up im running with, but im putting it on my d15b vtec. Get the sc50 with the .63 ar and the stage 3 wheel as bryson said above, you'll have alot better pull up top and im sure it will satisfy your power needs alot better than the smaller .48 turbine

T3/T4e, 57trim, .63AR stage 5 wheel, 360 thrust bearing, might do the trick.

Just my opinion.

Stage 5 wheel is too big. It wouldn't reach full boost until 5K.

I've found 2 extremely good sellers with extremely good prices so far. Camp1320 has been the cheapest thus far at 650 shipped, and wiredspeedlab comes in with a close 2nd at 695 shipped.

My vote still goes for the .48 A/R unless you plan on making over 400whp. The .48 will be maxed around 30-32psi with 400whp and an ultra fast spool.

T3/T04e .48/.60 biggest trim possible which is a 57 or 60, i honestly dont remember. I refuse to go with the precision fad.

Dont listen to what every one says bro.!!

I ran a .60 timr T3/T4 last year and made 343 Whp. It had a .63 A/R on the hot side and spool plenty fast. Most of these guys are telling you info that they dont even really know about. I KNOW for a fact that i could see a full 20+PSi by 4500-5000.

This year i am going to be running a T3/60-1 with a .63 A/R on the hot side and i am aiming for 450+ WHP on what ever boost it takes to get me there. The 60-1 flows about 10 lbs more air per Lb of boost compared to the .60 trim T3/T4.

i like the t3/60-1 (although I have alot more motor to help spool it) but I am sure the precision is a good choice also.
