Id go with the largest filter I could (longer and wider base) for the most surface area. K&N is probably your only choice. Let me know what you go with as we both have the same turbos.

Ended up with the K&N RU-2510.

Under 4" in height, which helps big time considering space constraints.

Hope that helps man, hopefully I'll have some good new about the new setup on Wednesday

Not sure what turbo you guys are using, but on my GT30R with 4" inlet. I am running a K&N with 4" Inlet, 5" base, 5" tall. Diameter at end of filter is 4" and is closed face, not inverted. This is also on a top monut manifold

first of all, get the flow of the turbo... find on CFM's whats the turbo MAX flow

then you can use the following equation to find the right size turbo, that will flow enought air for the turbo
the following equation was given to me by K&N customer support

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

1. Square inches of filter required for a motor

<u>CID x Maximum RPM</u>

20839

2. CFM required for a 4 stroke motor

<u>CID x Maximum RPM</u>

3456

3. CFM required for a 2 stroke motor

<u>CID x Maximum RPM</u>

1728

4. CFM required for a turbocharged or supercharged motor

<u>Pounds of Boost</u>

14.7

Add 1.0 to this answer. This relates to #2 and #3

Example: <u>CID x maximum RPM x #4</u>

3456 or 1728

5. To find circumference of a circle multiply diameter by 3.1416
6. To find diameter of a circle multiply circumference by .31831

CFM Formulas for Filters

Round: Diameter x Height x 6 x 3.14

Flat Panel: Length x Width x 6

Universal Round Taper: Base + Top = A

2

Take A x Length x 6 x 3.14

Universal Round Straight: Diameter x Length x 6 x 3.14
</TD></TR></TABLE>

I actually just made it. Had to buy a 45* Black Silicon Elbow, and a 45* aluminum elbow. Then I cut both apart and made that. Costed me like 100 bucks just to make that small thing *sigh* If anyone is looking for my left over pieces to make it I still have them and a red 45* elbow as well I'd like to eventually replace the black silicone part with an aluminum bend as well and weld it. But where I live, aluminum is like gold...

Thanks for all the comments.

The catch can I made a mounting bracket which bolts kinda behind my brake lines. Nothing crazy. Lines are the original Endyn ones going right to the block's breather tubes. And not running return line. Well actually I am. It's about 6" long and dumps into a pop bottle lol. I wanted to see what kinda stuff came out. It's disgusting... Would never want to put that back into my engine.

USDM 4G VTEC: Thanks for the formula! I'll have to check it today to see if my filter is good enough.
