what looks safe is a filter. what looks clean is just that. it will look clean with a blown turbo. look at it this way op a filter is like a condom. its better to have one and not need it then to need one and not have one. you decide.

Just got to AutoZone and get a low-profile Spectre filter for about $20.

i run a screen and right now its just a worm clamp holding on the screen...although i when to the hardware store and got a 4" rubber coupler in the plumbing section. it also came with a worm clamp.....have yet to install it yet

i wish i could run a filter, unfortunatly it is impossible, i barely could get a screen on it....did i mention i had to notch my block n transmission to fit the compressor cover

The Xenocron Tuning Filter sucks ***. I just sucked it into the turbo on the dyno and ruined a perfect brand new turbo because of it. The mesh broke free from the cheap *** ring that holds it in. Do not recommend this to anyone. BIG THUMBS DOWN!

Hands down use a filter. You know how must dust and dirt can enter the engine with a screen? YOu are really killing the longevity. When i was in college the instructors use to tell use two advil sized amounts of dirt ingested could equal 50k miles of wear on the motor. Clearly that a vauge statement but im sure it holds true. Drag racing is different as those guys are rebuilding all the time. For the weekend warrior/Street car always use a filter when you can.

If have space concerns maybe getting a 90 degree coupler and some piping and fab up something to relocate the filter. Then you could have the added benefit of having a cold air location. If you can hardly get a screen to fit then using a screen would clearly be a good idea Vs. not using one.

is 10whp worth rebuilding the motor or shelling out 6-800$ on a new turbo
