On a stock d15b? If you want to blow the motor in a week.

I hope your not serious. AbaZ from the CRX Resource ran like 10 psi street and 12 psi strip for like a month when he was trying to blow up his DX motor. Needless to say it finally went, with a rod through the oil pan. I *think* that all USDM 2g CRX/ 4g Civic D series rods are the same... And remember good tuning is key.

Later,
Derek

wrong place to ask bro, post it in the forced induction forum. But you can boost till your heart desires, it all depends on your fuel, if you got your fuel down perfect you can boost pretty high, liam(something) in forced inductions pushes about 15 psi on his d16, granted its a 1.6 but thats still really high for a stock motor. 1.5 rods are pretty tiny though but still with correct fuel you should be able to boost somewhat high, but this is something you should be doing on a dyno.

only lasted a month eh?

Most of us want a combo to last at least 3 seasons.

BTW you are wrong on a D rod info.
Grab a helms and you'll find out why.

Did you notice that I said he was TRYING to blow his DX motor by running high boost? And you were wrong about the 2-3 psi maximum... Can I get some pictures of a DX rod next to an Si rod?

Do the MPFI swap and boost it 'till the cows come home.

I have tons of rods laying around my shop, the d16a6,d15b2,ZC and the z6 all have the same rod size, the journals could be a bit smaller on the b2 since the crank is alot smaller then the d16's, but the rod threshold is about the same as the a6. A well tuned a6 can handle 12psi no problems. I was doing an experiment with a b2 a few months ago to see how much it could really handle. I took it to the track and was running 13 psi, it ripped pretty hard for a dx motor. One night I was going out street racing leading the pack, I pegged it pretty hard, My speedeo was stuffed in my dash.. I let off then pucnhed it (putting a serious load on it) 0 to 10 psi in a few sec's and it let loose, 1 rod threw the pan and 1 out the block.. It was very funny, all the cars behind me got sprayed with oil.

With a MPFI swap, 440cc injectors running a Zdyne or any type of stand alone engine managment the b2 can handle some good boost..

RIP hah

Good luck Derek

On a stock D15B2, You better have MPFI done to it, after that has been done, I would feel safe running up to 6 PSI on there, and make sure you have enough fuel (eather using a Fuel Mangament unit or an ECU) and go from there.

I talked with a guy with a custom turboed d15b2 running 10 psi daily and hitting 13.7-13.9 on the track(even showed me time slips). He had standalone computer and a few other tuning tweaks but he said he had been running on the stock rebuilt for about 1/2 yr.

Personally I ran 190lbs of N2O total at 55-75 shot on a d15b2 and it lasted 9 months of hard driving. So people say the motors are weak but alot of people can tell you different.

However, maybe the majority of people blow their tbi dx motors and you just dont hear about them, so do your research.

I was running 13psi at the track with my b2. The best time i could get was 14.0 @ 102mph.. The clutch was just a pyle of ****, I could easily see mid 13's with a decent clutch..

Curious does that guy live in the Northwest? does he go to SIR? I have never seen him down their.

I am hoping for 12s on my stock motor sohc turbo!! I have run a best of 13.6 @ 105 on street tires..but that was at 5400 feet. I am hoping at sea level and more tuning i can pull it off...pretty sure i can!

12s with a stoch sohc...thats what its all about.
