no, DONT turbo it, its a shitty sohc non-vtec. waste of a motor, ur better off buying a used b16 and swapping it into ur eg. believe it or nt, u'd b fatser withthe swpa then with ur boosted sohc. or spend some more money and swap a h22a into ur eg, that lone will put u into the 13's

wow dude, you're retarded.
OP: what d15 are you looking at? JDM D15B? it's my opinion that you get more power for your dollar on SOHC-T setups

f me for not researching quickly but is that 100hp or 128?
128 = go for it cause its a cheap way to get power
100 = go for a swap dude if u have high
who the expletive tells a guy asking about his sohc to do a h22a?
something tells me that motor falls out of his budget

turbo the motor you have now, have fun with it, if you throw a rod you have an excuse to get a new motor and you can swap alot of the stuff from the old setup(dependent on what you swap in)

yes rock the d15 excellent rod stroke ratio in that motor swap a crx si cam in that bitch mice power mid and upper range and stay around 180-190 whp....9-10pis...i ran mine on 10psi with a 14b and si (nonvtec cam) and made more power than my friends vtec z6 also upgrade the intake mani on the d15 and you can see numbers like mine around 210-220 whp....thats like way more than a VTEC B16 with its 133whp and shitty 1071b ft torque. my 215 had around 165lb ft tq....boost the d15 and get a good tune and your set.

Shut-up.
Boost the D, there is no need to swap another motor into your car. Build a kit for this engine and boost it and if you throw a rod, swap in another, or a d16.
You'll have more fun with the boosted D in your car, then a b16

if you stick with the d15 then you dont have many choices for rods, unless you spend some big money, stick with what you have

he's talking about the stock dx, d15b7.
i personally dont know much about boosting those motors, but the only sohc's i would boost is the d16z6 or jdm d15b vtec. how do the rods compare?

My EF has a turbo D15b converted to multi point. My brother in laws friend has a B16b in his EF. We raced and I raped the **** out of him. I would assume it would be the same for EG's i don't see how a swap would be faster than turboing and good tuning.
As far as rods go, its a D series just run it till it breaks then swap in another or get something better. No worries my motor has 140,000 on it and I beat the **** out of it daily including autox on the weekends with no problems at all.

im going to guess that the b7 is not jdm, i thought that the d15s had a smaller rod bearing size which is why aftermarket rods were hard to find. I thought you can't use d16 rod in a d15 because of this Eagle does make some but the cost around 700ish
all of that is from memory so if im wrong, use a little lub when you try to rape me

Minor threat!
Anyways trubo that D and you will be alot happier. A b16 puts out about the same amount of torque as a D16y8, maybe 5-6 more. Ull be raping B16s all day long with a turbo D. Plus if u blow the motor, you can get a replacement for like what? $400?

This post makes me think this thread was originally from the 92+ civic section
Slap on a HMT setup and buy a few hookers with the cash saved over a b16 swap. lol Seriously, dx motors can do close to 200whp with a multiport manifold and bigger injectors. A friend took a $800 CX, slapped a cheap HMT-style turbo kit on it, and it smoked the owner's other car, a new supercharged caviler. I personally wouldn't go over 7psi on the common .42/.48 45trim T3 turbo or 14b, or 10psi on some smaller IHI or t25.
The only way a b16 with mods could take a dx w/small turbo is if they spent 2x on mods than you did turbo, and you run winter tires with the dx trans. A set of good shocks, tires, and an si trans, and b18s don't have a chance.
