turbo d
I've been reading a lot about turbo selection for 300 HP on a vitara build and have come up with this. http://store.evans-tuning.com/garret...ing-turbo.html
wondering if this is the best choice for a quick spool while still meeting my power goals short of going ball bearing? if not can someone point me in the right direction

That would be a perfect turbo for your application. You can still make the power you want but have an amazing and very broad powerband, it would be almost like driving in NA v6 because the power would be so linear and smooth. It would be the perfect daily driver, light to light car, and a really fun mountain run car

and it's nice to see someone else who wants a turbo car that has great low end response and mid-range power as opposed to finding the biggest turbo possible and running it on a motor that has a 3000 rpm power band

I do have a journal bearing gt2860 laying around, t25 turbine inlet, nissan 4 bolt outlet... you can get greddy/cast d series t25 manifolds all day on ebay. I would suggest porting the manifold to gasket match it and smooth out the runners
