Turbo comparison- T3/60-1 vs. SC61, educate me!
What exactly makes this:
http://www.precisionte.com/pro...rgers
Outperform this:
http://store.yahoo.com/cheaptu....html
I know Precision is the latest craze, but in reality, I just don't think I "get it". I mean the 60-1 utilizes an S-cover, .70 A/R 60 trim wheel vs. the SC61's E-cover .63 A/R 56 trim comrpessor. With both running .63 A/R exahusts and 76 trim wheels, what makes the SC61 make more power?

The main benefit of the SC61 is that it utilizes the GT compressor wheel. The GT wheels have the best efficency out of any turbo wheel thus far (80%).
Because Precision also makes their own housings, and ports them they have a spool up advantage as well.
Precision is coming out with a new all GT wheel'd SC61 which will encorporate the new GT exahust wheel. This turbo should probduce even more HP than the SC61 with the same spool up rate.
I will be using a all GT SC61 with a .68 T4 housing...

looks like everyone is starting to catch on
the GT40 wheel flows more air, spools up faster, can support more boost, and is more efficient then the 60-1 wheel..

Re: (92HB_HB)
how do you contact Arturbo? I just did a search on the net... didnt find anything except the fact that they sponsor Laskey...
Also, Id like to learn more about what differences in wheel sizes and turbo parts/housings mean... anyone want to explain or link me to a good source?

Re: (ZoRG)
I didnt think I saw it stated in this thread but I'm pretty sure Chris or Art said it in another thread that Precision exhaust housings are a little more thick in comparison to other turbo manufacturers, which will retain more heat and energy.

They are really beefy and thick. The new housings are but they still retain the same offset as the old turbos.

the percisions casting is a bit too rough for my taste.

Re: (dwchkypmp20)
I was kinda being sarcastic in a way. You see the SC61 will give you more power, Ive tested numerous times vs. the 60-1 compressor. Granted, the 60-1 compressor will make power I simply said to keep the 60-1 only becuase it will make power and it will be a fun car. It will make 500hp and that more than what most people can handle.
If anyone says the SC61 doesnt make more power than 60-1 has other problems with their setup. Its easy to blame the turbo when their set up has other problems. I just ignore such posts because it makes "them" feel better.
