turbo civic(d-series) + aem cam gear = advance or retard?
Hey everyone, I just aquired an AEM cam gear brand new for free...so dont think I went out and bought the thing. So I slapped it on the turbo civ and im wondering if anyone has any idea as to what I should set the damn thing to. To give you an idea of what im running here is a short, long list
greddy turbo kit (TD04H-15G)
greddy type 31 intercooler
MSD SCI + PRO CAP + BLASTER 3 COIL
450 cc 1st gen talon injectors
v-afc hack
profec-b (boosting 10psi) currently
walbro 255 fuel pump
b&m FPR
greddy head gasket
arp head studs
nuformz block guard
colder heat range spark plugs
tenzo type 2 exhaust
so there is the list, just so if you have any idea as to what to set the cam gear to and are wondering what exactly im running you wont have to ask me.
as of now, i understand that cam gears on a single cam motor dont really increase horsepower as much as on a dual cam motor, but instead allow me to move my power band around. I'd like to have a low end power band as aposed to a top end power band. Right now, just messing around i've got the cam timing advanced 3 degrees. Any ideas? Thanks!
oh btw i have a d16y8 (96 civic ex)
