Default Turbo Chips...?

I've been seeing a number of "turbo chips" popping up on ebay, lately...They're obviously rip-offs, but are they just N/A chips that are being sold as FI, or are they actually designed to benefit a turbo, ie. do they retard timing, can they sense boost (one ad refers to 8psi boost, something or another) do they hide it from the MAP? Also, they're 99% gauranteed

Basically, does anyone know if Greddy or any legit companies make a socket chip that these were ripped off from, or are they total BS?

They are probably just the B.S chips, but they may be G-force chips that are just reprogrammed maps for the stock ECU. That is what I use for fuel management, Techtom is the company (a division of G-force). It won't do you any good anyway, because it would have been tuned for the car it was on with a wideband. The chances of the maps working on your car are virtually nothing.

I'm running one and no it doesn't hide boost from the MAP or have boost fuel and ignition tables per se. First of all it disables closed loop so my mileage is ****. What it does is it has richer fuel maps and retarded ignition timing maps. According to the maker at zero MAP it dumps fuel, whatever that means. I assume they mean that when you go into boost and the check valves are open so that the MAP is seeing atmospheric pressure the injectors are at max duty cycle. It's a stop gap measure since I'm too cheap to buy Hondata. But it works, no need for a FMU and my plugs look good. No detonation, but I'm not running a lot of boost either.

I completely realize that the chips on ebay are sketchy, sketchy rip-offs, but I was wondering if there are any "drop in" chips that are legitimate that these might be copied from.
That is true about them being tuned for the car their own, but it seems that a fair number of people run a base map on hondata, atleast for a while...
The one I was looking at was apparently designed for a sohc vtec with the greddy kit at 8psi. I think that would be specific enough to help out, especially with ignition retard. Just a thought, since I don't have the cash for a Hondata, at the moment.
