I am wanting to turbo my 00 civic si. I am wanting to just sleeve the block and replace the pistons with JE. I will build the head. I am looking to run about 300 to 350hp. Will the crank and rods hold that much on an everyday driver and will i have to switch to obd1 to tune it or can i just get a stand alone and tune it that way. Please let me no im just looking for a 300+hp everyday driver and not blow it up.

the problem is the the obd1 is emissions. i wont pass with obd1 cuz mines an obd2

well if your gunna boost your motor ur not gunna pass emissions with a good tune

350 to the wheels and u dont need anything to reinforce the bottom, just a good turbo setup, good tunning maybe even throw in some ctr cams and IM

if your going to do the pistons then while you have it apart just put the extra money into the rods the crank will be fine but just throw some rods in and be safe.

For the power you're hoping to make, building the bottom end is unnecessary. That's not to say you can't do it, but for your power goals, the stock bottom end will work just fine. For example, i made 315whp on my bone stock GSR for 2 years...and i daily drove it. If you have the money, building the bottom end isn't a bad idea...it gives you peace of mind

why don't you get the greddy kit with two ecus. I believe the piggyback runs off your stock P2T ecu enabling you to pass emissions. Your second tune would be on Hondata or something of your choice with a custom map and extra boost.

To be 100% honest, i beat the living **** out of the car pretty much every time i drove it. I dont think luck has a lot to do with anything...i've seen several cars make more than that on the stock block and run hard for years. Actually, last summer Mike from SLS (local shop in Fargo and an HT sponsor) made 389whp on his stock B16 with E85 and a 57 trim. The car is still running around Fargo somewhere as far as i know...

With a good setup and a good tune, you can make 300-350whp without issue. Maintenance is key though
