Default Turbo on an Automatic

I have a '96 Integra LS w/ an automatic tranny. I was wondering if it's possible to put a turbo setup on my engine and if so, how hard would it be. A engine swap is out of the question, same with a manual tranny swap. Thanks.

All automatics that I have ever heard of have torque converters so I can't see why you made this comment, "get a tq converter". Maybe you should have said, get a better torque converter. And a torque converter doesn't have to be replaced as often as a clutch. Look at the design, instead of putting a full load between 2 surfaces, the torque converter uses pressure which allows it to last longer.

Yes what integ-modder said is true, I have a 99 LS auotmatic with NOTHING done to the tranny at all, not even a bigger tranny cooler, let along a built torque converter. I dunno what I'm gonna do about my tranny situation anymore (swap or build up), but I can tell you my transmission takes the extra hp/tq very well and hasn't missed a shift, or otherwise acted weird at all.

They car drives like it did stock, smooth shifting and takes it nicely. The older honda trannies SUCKED (auto ones, < 94) The newer ones I'm convinced are built a little better...

Some things you should know that helped my tranny last longer....
1. My car is a dialy driver, so I don't race every day or drive like a ******* 17 year old rich kid who's daddy would by him a new car if he broke it
2. I have only been to the track ONCE since I went turbo, only 2 runs
3. DO NOT EVER, I REPEAT DO NOT EVER NEUTRAL DROP YOUR CAR!!!!! I garuntee you, you will blow up your tranny almost immediatly after a few of these!!!
4. ONLY powerbrake at the track, do NOT be doing that **** everyday or even every week... HEAT kills automatics...
5. Finally, don't drive it like you stole it... automatics aren't meant to be floored all over the place... save it for the ricer driving next to you on the interstate that doesn't suspect anything and starts messing with you.... then you can floor it and put it in d3 and pull her to redline (110mph)...... and PLEASE don't be doing that everyday either

3 years and counting... boosted automatic, even after tons of neutral drops, its still functioning reasonably well. (not perfect though, N-bombs took their toll) And to top it off, my tranny sucks compared to the newer ones. To my knowledge 94 and 95 werent as good as later automatics.

Honda auto trannies.
Now take a look at the supra and is300 auto trannies The is300 auto tranny is actually stronger than the manual.

Or how about the auto tranny's on the GM V8s? However, the Honda tranny is still alive on my car, so dont knock it too much.

I definatly agree! I messed up my first car's tranny by doing neutral drops. It's pointless! Power brake IF you have to but don't neutral drop it.
