turbo on automatic?
Yes you can boost it. No you can't put alot of boost on it.
I know this is comparing apples to oranges, but I have a 1999 Eclipse Spyder GS Automatic, that I did a full DOHC head swap and turbo kit install. I am only running 10psi, but I wanted to be safe. I looked into a shift kit just to be safe, and I found a company called Translab. I bought the Stage 4 upgrade which should be safe for up to 400hp.
I am sure there are companies that carry these so called shift kits, but I am sure, if you run low amounts of boost, your transmission should be some-what ok.
There is one good thing to boost on an automatic-when accelerating slowly the car seems non-turbo because between shifts, they BOV does not expel excess boost. The car slws the rev's automatically.
