first off, i dont know much about turbos, but i do have a t3 garrett ar42/48. i have no clue what that means, it just says that on the turbo, with a hf manifold.. a friend gave it to me for free..now my question is, is it hard to put together a turbo kit for my y8..i got a 96 coupe..what will i need to have a complete setup. i dont even have the acuator/wastegate.ive been on homemadeturbo.com and i still dont really understand exactly what i need. anyone out there that can educate me a bit about how to build a kit...?i will have pics of my turbo up as so on as i can find my digital camera...thanks..

 

Your best bet would be to get a nice manifold thats made for the T3 turbo you have

 

before ANYTHING...

read up on how a turbo works and what is required. you dont wanna jump into this without knowing what's going on. that'll just result in a blown motor and a lotta wasted money.

read the BASICS thread and just browse here and homemadeturbo.com until you finally get the gist of what's involved, required, etc...
