Default tunning trip... problems to expect.. will I make it...

ok, my project is all done, (jdm h22a custom turbo kit, 1000cc injectors, running uberdata, t3 turbo running low boost like around the 8 psi mark)
now, i dont have a wideband to do my own tunning but i know a guy (bailhatch) adam who is gona tune it for me... and he lives ruffly 2 hours from where i am... i know nothing about tunning ... i mean i built my own kit and stuff.. but when it comes to tunning i suck... if i burn a basemap for a jdm h22 and input the 1000cc injectors without tunning will i be albe to drive it to him if (i was told it would be best to take out the wastegate spring ) so that he can tune it for me? thanks for the help with such a dumb question...

most basemaps for non stock injector sizes seem to run mega rich, so it might work, might not.

if your talking about trying to run the 1000 cc's on a stock jdm h22 map, its not gonna happen. the engine probably wouldnt even start you'd be so rich.

if you take it easy, you wont boost at all, so no real need to take the wastegate spring out. i can drive all day and not hit boost if i dont floor it, etc..

you can just drive on the stock injectors and ecu, and just swap that stuff out when you get there. just dont hit the boost, and you'll be fine.

actually with compensating for the 1000cc injectors, mose likely it will be lean at idle, rich during part trottle. it takes more time for the 1000's to open and close at idle, so you have to add fuel there and then decrease as the volumetric efficiency of the engine increases.

you may be able to make it, have your tuner send you a basemap. I would, but most of stuff is via hondata, so no clear way to transpose it.

i could probably send you a chrome map, that i transferred info from hondata, you could burn that, then have tuner setup somthing in uber.

Ask your tuner if you guys can install the injectors before you tune. And just drive to him on a stock ecu and stock injectors. And just drive normal, out of boost. That is what I would suggest.

thanks for the advice guys... yeah i was already considering doing that (putting the stock injectors in and running it that way with the stock ecu) but jesus.. i have an AEM fuel rail and for some reason the 3 little nuts on the back side of the rail are fucken a pain in the *** to tighten down ... AKA its a pian in my ballz to change injectors, but thats probably what i will end up doing...
