Tuning with Nitrous
Ok im seeing a lot of different answers for my question when searching here and google.
I want to put a 50 shot ZEX wet on my stock LS motor. Do I need to have it tuned after I install the system? I only plan a 50 shot for a while. I also have a skunk2 intake manifold that i might put on if this changes anything.

Unless you like using motors as paper weights, I would definatley get the car tuned for nitrous.
How many miles are on the motor? It sounds like the thing is stock...so why go shooting a 50 shot on it...for fun?

as long as your car is tuned alright to start with, a wet 50 shot should be safe as it should get all the fuel needed to compensate for the nitrous. Id say you would be fine... intake shouldnt affect it either

thats what i heard about the 50 shot.
some are saying when you get up to a 75 shot thats when you have to tune but then again you have some like totsie7944 saying other wise. "what to believe" lol

I've built a fair amount of motors now, and/or helped and seen plenty of other motors get built and tuned. I always go on the side of "proper" not "should be ok".
While you "might be ok", the added peace of mind from a proper tune is worth it to me. Why pay $500+ for a nitrous kit and potentially blow up a $4000 motor, when tuning is only like $300 or so.

that's true what they said you dont have too but its recomended. i have and LS with a 75 shot and 6 degree taken out. i live in cali so i run 91 with NGK spark plugs. i also only have intake, headers, exhaust, and a test pipe. that's a lot of power for an LS. i have ran a subaru wrx(not the STI) with exhaust, intake and some thing called a cobb(its like a superchip for those cars) and beat it by about two cars or so. maybe it was luck but i still beat it. so there is potential. i will be converting my motor to a vtec and then i think that i am going to bump up the shot. and i am going to definitely tune!
