Default Tranny Rebuild

I always see that people spend mad money on building their engine but I never hear people spend money on building the tranny to hold such crazy amount of power. Im trying to get my D series tranny rebuild for turbo. I plan to get new synchros, new bearings, seals and I want to get the gears cryo treated. Has anyone got the gears cryo treated before and how much did you pay? and what parts would you buy to build your tranny?

Honda transmission were built alot better then most of the other cars out there (mitsu, subaru, ext.) What it is is inside the housing Honda made all there shafts furthor apart than others did. This allows for stonger and larger gears with the extra space inbetween each shaft(input , output ext.) Now that they have mastered the fwd transaxle they need to bring out a dam AWD transaxle that comes in the 4 bangers....

I would contact steve locket(Racerstev) on here and have your gears heat treated. He treated mine along with a bunch of other SFWD guys that were breaking gears and been running over a year without any issues.

No they do not. James is a great guy at gear-speed, but what RacerStev is doing with the gears is something that gear-speed does not and it is working thus far for many people. I got a set of gears cryo treated....didn't help at all. For your rebuild parts, contact gear-speed....for your stronger heat treated gears, contact RacerStev.
