Default traction....looking for some

What do you all do for traction? I smoke 1st and 2nd gear and thats even with an ls tranny.

My ready-to-get-installed gsr tranny is not going to help out traction any so im pondering a quaife and 225 radial tires for now. I dont have wheel hop (thanks Hasport) so jim fab bars would not be effective im guessing?

dammit if i dont get traction with that im going to get full out slicks for the street! please help

I stick at 310whp (low boost) with 205 Azenis and a quaife in 1st and 2nd gear.

The 1st and 2nd gears are identical in the GSR and LS tranny's I believe, so don't worry about that. If you're not getting wheelhop, suspension isn't the problem. I think a quaiffe will help you a lot. As the old saying goes, 'two tires spinning is better than one.' Drag radials are drivable on the street too, have you thought about those?

BTW, what's your current suspension setup?

I have eibach prokit springs and koni yellows on 3/4 hard setting.

I just tried out new 225/35/18 S03 Pole position tires on an extra set of wheels i have and loss traction in 1st but hooked all through 2nd gear.

i wonder how some 15" s03's would help. we run those on our 328i in 215/17, and they only loose traction when you are trying to do a burnout. oh and yes i know the 328 is very underpowered

225/45/16 drag radials. I have a complete set of SSR Type C's 16x7 with polished lip for sale, mounted with the drags and some normal 555's in the rear. If you're interested, let me know - they dont make that size DR anymore

I don't have the power you have, but I do have a Quaiffe; and it doesn't help much with my straight line traction.

I can still burn out both wheels easily in 1st and 2nd and it pisses me off.

The biggest improvement in traction I've ever had was when I ran Drag Radials for my everyday driving.
