Default Totally disappointment in my Dyno number...

So i take up a 3 hr drive to DRT and installed tuned my hondata s200b, the first pull we made ralf said it was at 5 psi. made 121whp and 120 tq i believe. i thought wtf why so damn low. he fixed the fuel a little it rise up to 148 whp, still that way lower then i expected... i was hoping maybe hitting 200whp, but it doesnt seem to be possible, we made 25 pull and i know that ralf try his best with tuning. he said something about the wastegate not acting right when rised boost or something. it spike (i dont have a boost controller, he just T off the vacuum hos). So i end up leaving the shop with the best of 168.7 whp and 16x tq @8psi<not really sure...

Im running a 1998 Integra LS:

Greddy kit Hondata s200B tuned
29x6x2.7 inch intercooler
HKS BOV
Home made intercooler piping(doesnt seem to be leaking)
Stock cat, exhaust...

Is this number a little too low for my b18b1???

Im planning on heading back in a week or two and fully make a 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch exhaust... and buy a boost controller... Im hoping to hit 200whp. is that possible????

I'm guessing maybe your exhaust could be congested.

I see other people with basically the same kit making around 200whp, i cant see the exhaust adding 30whp maybe 15whp but whose know it might be it. and maybe something wrong with boost, need a boost controller...

How were you adjusting the boost to get 8psi if you don't have a boost controller? Did you adjust the wastegate actuator arm?

Greddy kits kind of sucks.... seen too many low numbers... you are just buying the freaken NAME dude.... get a custom kit that you can decide for even your future goals....example: t3/t4e, tial wg, blitz bov, 2.5inch pippings, 3inch dp, etc etc... don't get a g@y turbo kit and be stuck with it...have a shop or friend custom you a turbo kit... it'll turn out way better...

i've done a few greddy kits and power increase sucks to tell you the truth.. look at the one tested at only 168whp@7psi...damn so low!!! with an intercooler maybe 10-15whp more.. but even then it still too low for the money...

i've seen 7-8psi in stock GSR with custom turbo kits do almost 300whp!!! now that is power!!!

My goal is to have over 200whp with this kit and those t3/t4 turbo is not my taste, im not the kind that like high speed/top end racing. im all about getting from a stop up there fast. those big turbo will have lag. with the 18g it kick in pretty quick and even tho the number is a little lower, it still kick it hard.

First, you don't NEED a boost controller. You can run whatever your wastegate spring is. It all depends on if you want to be changing around your boost, then of course a MBC would be helpful. I just run my .5 bar spring and if I want to bump up the boost then I am going to buy a bigger spring. I don't have the deal with boost creep or any of that ****. Now as far as the manifold for that kit, is it a good quality manifold or is it ****...I forget. I've also heard bad things about the wastegate in that kit....Im just trying to shoot down the problem here so I am going to list anything I think it could be. You may want to invest in a Tial Wastegate.

Also, as far as your #'s being low. It could very well be your exhaust. Especially that stock cat. I can see your #'s being that low with your setup. Its not like you have a big *** turbo (18g, small turbo) and a b18c1 or b18c5. Your going to need to raise up the boost if you want more power and definately get yourself a bigger exhaust. Thats your biggest problem.

Do a compression/leakdown test and see what your results are. Just for your own peace of mind.

I'd also check for leaks. There not always easy to find and they happen quite often. Whats your vacuum reading on your boost gauge? Should be around 17-20psi.

Are you holding solid boost, or is it creeping?

Another thing. What size is your piping?

Patdemps, My turbo is internal wastegate. and im thinking just buying one of those maual boost controller for about 100 buck.

Boost hold just find stock, pressure seem to be in that area. My gauge is in bar .

Intercooler piping??? 2.5 inch

I jsut want to be able to hit 13, i dont care if it high 13 or mid 13. I just want 13 but with my number now i highly doubt it so i wont go to the track yet... i guess ill have to wait and get the exhaust/controller and dyno again and see what happen...

i just wish you can buy the CARB sticker so when the cops pull me over with my custom kit, i dont have to go on a field trip to the state referee LOL

The turboxs manual boost controler is a good one to get. they are about 85 installed for the regular one.

BTW pat, you should use a boost controler instead of changing WG springs. As you build boost the WG will slowly open until it stabalizes at your set boost level. with the MBC it will not open untill you reach the set level therby giving you a faster spool up. i'm sure you have some stage3 turbine wheel or something that doesn't spool super fast so it might be something you would want to get at some point. The earlier you make power the faster your car will be

All u greddy haters go to hell!!!!!!!j/k..Hey man bring your greddy powered ls around my way!!!I will strap u up with some decent #s....Anyway, def. ditch the stock cat and get a bigger exhaust system for starters...Just to give you an idea my car made 230 whp and 225 ft lbs on 10 psi with a fairly rich mid 11s a/f ratio, hollowed out cat,hks 2 1/4 hks cat back, and a bone stock ls motor..This was right after driving the car an hour or so to get to the place, and then strapping it right to the dyno..Something def, does not sound right with your setup.....How conservative was the timing and a/f??

Maybe your Cat is clogged...Get rid of that exhaust and run a flow friendly setup...

I dont think ralphie has any luck with ls motors...lol The last one he tuned only made 197 i think (it belongs to a member here ....unit). He is the one who tuned my car. How does your dyno graph look?
