Default Torque Wrenches and adapters

Sorry, don't know where to post this.

I plan on using a 3/8 tq wrench with a 1/4 adapter. The adapter itself is around 1-1.25 inches in length. what effects will this have on tq specs?

There should be no significant difference... I used 1/2" tq wrench with 3/8" adaptor to build my motor. An extension on the other hand might twist enough to affect accuracy depending on the amount of tq.

I'm just thinking in terms of basic physics... I'd like to hear someones explaination if I'm wrong.

Torque = r x F the only distance that matters is the one 90 degrees to the axis of the bolt (the length of the wrench beam) As long as you got the wrench straight, the adapter makes no difference.

Exactly, it only matters if you lengthen the wrench after the socket end. Like putting a wrench over where the socked used to go and using that to tq. If you extended the handle part it does not matter at all. Using straight socket extensions and adapters will have no effect.
