too much boost for oem map?
when you push more boost than your oem map sensor can register, it shows itself as a map sensor cel, correct? cause i pushed a little over 10 psi tonight, and all of a sudden i was getting a code 3 and my car was running like ****. once i reset the ecu, the light went off and everything was fine. so, i need a gm 3 bar map sensor, right? and if that is what i need, what do i ask for at the parts store? what is it off of, or what is the part number, or is there some other way of distinquishing it? thanks.

that will only work if you are using a crappy FMU setup.

Re: (kell211)
and out of curriosity, is there any other problems i should concider or does everyone think it's probably the map sensor? i've run the car at that boost level before without getting a code. is this just luck or what? what all could cause the map cel to come on, and then go away after i reset the ecu?

Re: (kell211)
what fuel managment are you using, did you say FMU? The GM 3bar map sensor will not work plug-and-play the voltage levels it puts out are completely wrong for your ecu, so you need to reprogram you ecu or your stand-alone to interpret the new signal.
