well as u know i have a prelude.. anyway i have an aftermarket flywheel which does not have the timing mark... i was wondering what the deal is gonna be when i get my hondata.... will the tuner be able to tell what degree my timing is at?
well, if you have an aftermarket crank pulley, then insert the crank pulley to the end of the crank shaft, insert the key, then set the piston #1 at TDC..
install the lower timing cover, then mark the crank pulley by the notch on the timing cover with a white out or anything to mark it permanently

he right the preludes use there flywheel to set tdc and there cam gears. What after market flywheel do you have? It should have a mark or you could make your own before you installed the flywheel. lates

If you have a TDC mark on your flywheel, then you can figure out the timing with one of those advancing timing guns. Without the TDC mark, you are SOL.
Oops, sorry, I haven;t worked on any H series motor yet...
how can you see the flywheel though ?
I mean do youhave to take out the starter before you check your timing ?

every flywheel i have seen so far has at least 1 mark.
you have to find the right timing light. If it has tdc mark a craftsman
advancing light can help.
