What i need to know is gsr timing belt the same as type r ??

I got type r belt. but when i put it on i can't get the crank to line up. i try it like 20 time and it allways off one thoth its my b16b block with gsr crank and the block was sleeved.


p.s and skunk 2 cam gears

i have the same problem on my motor..every time its one tooth off...i try to compensate but it doesnt work..ghey..

would decking the block make it always one tooth off?? because i think thy do that after sleeving it.

Sure, it can set it off, but i dont know if a whole tooth,

is this how i should do it, bring the engine up to TDC. There are 5mm dowel holes in the cam cap cover and camshafts. Stick 5mm dowels into both the intake and exhaust camshaft. Loosen the cam gear bolts. Turn the crankshafts in the direction the engine rotates a few teeth, than bring it back to TDC again. Tighten the cam gear bolts. This brings the cams back to TDC with the crankshaft.

i am off like 1/2 or 1/4 tooth on the crank. thats why i want to adjust my cam gears.

Except for that rotating the crank part. Get the crank at TDC, lock the cams with the dowels, then put the belt on it, adjusting the cam gears as necessary to make it fit.

Decking the block and head normally only takes a few thousandths of an inch off of each, not enough to put your cam gears way off.
