tial spring dimensions
I need to know if there is a physical difference between the big tial springs and the small ones. Im having some boost control issues and I would like to somehow have some measurements I can take of the 2 springs that I have to make sure they are small and not big springs. Anyone know if there is a difference in height, width or maybe a circumfrence measurement for the springs.
thanks

Yes, some are larger diameter than others: http://tialsport.com/springapp.html

Re: tial spring dimensions (dennis)
according to that chart it says all 38mm springs are 1.875 in. of overall diameter. I'm wondering if there is any way to tell the difference in the small and big springs for the 38mm wastegate.

Just by color. It looks like one spring can be used in different wastegates and have different values depending on the wastgate it's in. So you basically want to look at the color of the spring, and then look at the chart to see what the rate will be.
Edit: that chart is a little confusing. I don't think all are small. It's the small springs that have the smaller diameter and the 'big' springs that have the larger diameter. I went from a small green (7psi) to a big yellow (10 psi). The big was clearly a larger diameter.

Hey just curious, what types of boost control issues are you having?
I am having some problems as well, not sure if its the wastegate or something else.

Re: tial spring dimensions (2000GSRT)
Well im gettin some boost creep. I have a tial 38 wastegate and it was supposed to be at about 9psi. well i have noticed boost creeping up to 12psi sometimes. i've bought a golden eagle vacuum manifold so the wastegate could have its own very good source of vacuum and that didnt help. Ive tried a small green spring(7.25psi) , that didnt help...still wanted to go to 11psi.
Mainly what i have narrowed it down to, with some other peoples opinions is that my wastegate has a crappy position on the manifold. My manifold is an OBX unit that looks like the first SSAC manifolds that were the Stainless non-log style. My wastegate tube actually points up and away from the manifold. I am thinking i need to re-weld the tube so it points downward, so that the exhaust gas naturally flows down and out of the wastegate, intsead of trying to fight its way up and out against natural exhaust flow.
Any other opinions on this would be appreciated.
