Default Tial 35mm wastegate...........?'s

Everyone says the Boost limit for the normal 35mm Valve would around 18psi. However, I would think the limits of the valve would NOT be the boost being ran. I would think the limits would determined more by the wastegate position, the flow of the manifold, the size of the turbine, and the HP the engine is trying to make.

Couldn't you get away with running a 35mm gate, on an engine that takes 25psi to reach the same amount of HP as a larger engine only running 14psi?

Enlighten me please

TIA,
Bryson

Default Re: Tial 35mm wastegate...........?'s (Bryson)

tial makes lots of different springs ranging from about 4psi on up. I am currently running the .35 bar or 4 1/2lbs with a boost controler i would be able to turn the boost up consideralby with my turbo ( 12psi for sure, no prob.) now if your planning never to run that low (.35bar) then start out with a stiffer spring and crank the boost up i think depending on the displacement of your engine and size of turbo there would be no problem going past 18 psi.

Also remeber if you buy the 35mm and it's not working out for you. You can always go hybrid to a 35/40 with your existing parts for higher boost.
