what's your hp goal? that's a 60lb/hr turbo if i remember right. should be good for 450whp without trouble....probably more

that said, for what they cost i'm surprised you didn't get a 6262

its basically a 60-1 with a stage 5 exhaust wheel. its a great street turbo for your setup. i was going to run one on my 84x87 motor for 450 on pump but sold it to a friend that needed a turbo asap.

I think for his setup if he wants a street car and doesn't plan on making more then 550whp its fine. I said tiny because nowadays smaller turbos aren't as popular

you'll easily make 400+ with that turbo. can't remember where 750s max but depending on compression you might be octane limited. most the 400+ hp builds go to e85 for just that reason, and, with e85 those injectors are too small for 400+

At least 750cc is need for 400whp. You won't make it without some sort of fuel modifyer like Meth/water or race fuel with that low of a compression.

which brings up another point...why in the world would you want 8:5-1 on a street car? engine will be more responsive at 9:5-1 or 10:1

takes more boost pressure to get the same power level as with a slightly higher compression. Off boost response DIPS BIG in between shifts with lower compression . What you have as a turbo is ok, as the "sweet spot" of efficiency is from 14-26psi,but it will take over 18psi just to get close to you to your 400whp goal.

for every layer you remove, you only bump compression .2

You'd need to shave the head or go with flat faced valves to make any real difference.

low compression has its benefits. Cooler combustion temps allow you to run more boost without detonation, which is a benefit of a lower compression. High boost big AR setups can make really good numbers for pump gas. Sure, they aren't as responsive out of boost, but they can be built to overcome that.

True, but not when the turbo being used takes that long to get into the best efficiency "island". 9.0:1 and above is fine. Don't treat the car like its 1985 with super low compression to compensate for lack of ability to fine tune ignition timing and fuel curves. Its the 21st century, and to a point where yes, you can have higher compression, cool cylinders and great off boost response, if you're willing to get the right equipment and people to do it.

2 COMPLETELY different turbos with 2 COMPLETELY different uses. Time to think about what you want to do with this car, and not just go for the quick deal.
