How the heck did you fit a filter on the turbo!!!!

Ive got a stage 3 kit and its sits about 2 inches away from the headlight!!!

I see no harm in doing that.Good luck finding a filter thats 2'' or less in length.

You wont fit a filter straight on to the turbo with that kit, mesh wont lose power and will keep everything (rocks, birds, headlights) except dust from being sucked into the turbo. My advice would be to put 2 layers of mesh on it and dont drive down dirt/gravel roads.

the mesh has less airspace (i.e more of the mesh is solid) than a filter, its more restrictive, reduces flow to the turbo so it causes lag and m,akes less power. plus its a shitty way to filter something

ps is pointless unless youre parking
and in all honesty, where the turbo is sitting theres almost no chance of the turbo ingesting anything

Thats on an integra, theres not that much room on the civics, plus that manifold sits the turbo closer to the head than a Full-Race mani would.

Is there any way to fit a 45 or 90 bend and a hks mushroom filter on it?I am going to guess that no matter what you are going to fab something up.If its a full-race why not ask them they must have done one or two eks with a filter before?

We were going to put a filter on Rizzo-TK's neukin topmount that sits pretty much exactly like the full race mani.

We got a 45 deg. 4" coupler and we were going to remove the headlight then jam the headlight back in place, and use a little heat if necessary. It would work on his this way, we have just never done it.

Well i know that i have dynoed with a filter, without, with a screen, without a screen. The dynos have been within 1-3whp on all the tests so its not really a big deal. It is a shitty way to filter a turbo but when you cant fit one it beats leaving it completely open.

you people also have to remember that these top mount manifold designs are full out race designs, and i doubt they were ever designed with daily driving in mind. they were designed to make the most power, and with racing as the primary application. Good luck on your filter search

You could fab a filter box, maybe like the ARC box but with dimensions that work for your space, then use a flat K&N filter. I haven't seen how much space you have to work with so this might not work. Its my .02 cents

Ok here is a Full-Race mani on a eg civic. This is why you cant fit a filter, without hacking up the car.

How much the screen restricts is dependant on how big the inlet of the turbo is. With a 3" inlet, it'll be restrictive above 350whp or so. I do know that on a 5" inlet there is no restriction at all at 925whp.
