thinking to turbo my R...
I'm in a market for a turbo kit for my R
"IF" the DRAG Gen3 is the best kit ever,
what other options and upgrade would i need
and how much more money would i need to spend
in order to enjoy my R without ******* up my
motor. thanks for any kinds of reply, i'm really
a newbie in the force induction field.

Definatly upgrade the wastegate to the Tial 35mm and the oil return line to stainless steel. For the R, I would lower my comp. with a headgasket. Its hard to answer your post because you need to give a goal, how much power are you looking to make, engine rebuild? Be more detailed and people will respond with much better posts than mine.

Definately think everything through very carefully....Look to spend about 5 to $6k on everything (honestly) if you want a safe setup. You will need a standalone (don't settle for less)and larger injectors. I would even think of going with piston/rods to lower compression a bit. The things that the LS and GSR peeps are able to get away with (eg AFC hacks), I would not recommend. You're looking for trouble if you do ....keep around $1k extra for incidnetals...you'll be glad you did...

Please retract that LS and GSR comment because I wouldn't use an FMU or AFC hack on my GSR either since I have 10.6:1 compression.

Re: thinking to turbo my R... (FreddyR)
i'm keeping away to touch the motor. i basically just want
some bolt-on turbo kit, and of coz dyno-tuned.
my goal is making my car to have 210~230 whp
since me is doing lots of speedtrials, so high boost
is not a good idea.
i just want to make it runs normal and faster than it was.

stock boost-setting of the wg spring, I would install an 3 inch exhaust for better spooling and power. 370cc injectors with Apexi VAFC, or just go Standalone, it is always the best way. Adjustable Cam gears for better tourque, power and better mpg's.
Ditch the 12:1 fmu and install an cartech 2005i fmu when doing setup with 370cc.....or ditch the fmu **** and go standalone with AEM 1:1 fpr.
Make the turbo water-cooled.
I chosed the 370cc over the 310cc, cause the stock ECU will bring them down to idle and you have some room for improvements. When going standalone, you can go with 440cc.
Take it to a dyno.
