Here is the great news. I dropped my comprehensive 4 days before it got stolen but had already pre-paid past the date of it being stolen for comprehensive. Unitrin Direct won't get back to me yet to see if I will recover the cost of the Civic itself 2,500 dollars or not. Meanwhile I have to pay 130 dollars towing for my chassis to the wrecker yard and 33 dollars a day while they figure everything out.

Re: Thieves in Florida.. another stolen car (dasher)
Honestly I hate nothing more than carthieves. I'm not exactly the violent type, but I would be knocking some skulls right about now.
I know if they want it, they'll get it, but is there any method of protection? Even against flatbedding it?

Good Luck MEng - I hope the insurance coughs up the money. Any chance your motor will be covered also ? Threads like these make me want to keep my hatch in the garage all day. I'm not in central florida but I am in Miami. GOOD LUCK !
Good Day,
RH.

most likely not... but recovering 2,500 is my best chance so I have to find a tow company to hall a chassis without even a steering column to my house so avoid paying more money to holding yard.

Yes or make sure you pay extra insurance to cover all the aftermarket parts.
I'm most likely going to me out 17-18 grand for everything.... not including the hundreads of hours invested in time.

Re: Thieves in Florida.. another stolen car
Here is the kicker ...
I hadn't even gone out to the track as of yet.
I haven't gone to any car show or meet in almost 3 years before it was stolen.
I don't brag about my car and only have a small group of friends who know and know where I live.
I don't race anyone on the street.
I had a really expensive alarm with pager installed but it was temporarily disabled because I was re-wiring some electrical components.

Re: (civic_driver)
My guess is that a lot of these "one-off" parts end up in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, etc... probably nowhere to be found in the states.
Sorry for your loss bro, it's getting bad even up here in Connecticut as of lately.
I will end up in jail if I catch someone attempting to steal my stuff.
