Default Thicker or OEM head gasket?

My EM1 is about to go boost here in the next month or so and will be using a inline pro turbo kit. Question is I want the car to be safe around 250-300whp TOPS is the much i want out of it and I was wondering should I get a thicker head gasket to lower compression or no? Ive talked to a few people some say to do it same say dont. My old hatch without a thicker head gasket on 9psi on a b16a running a gt32-51 turbo did 259whp and runs good. My new EM1 though I was thinking about doing one to be safe but if its not worth it then why do it? So my question to you guys is. Should i get thicker head gasket or no?

Jason

Using a thicker one has the chance to be safer. However if you do get a thicker one, while the head is off and you are doing your thing, i would go ahead and get some ARP head bolts, golden eagle, yada for increased sealing and clamp force.

get some ARP head studs if you do get a new gasket. if you get a thicker head gasket and lower the compression, it will be safer but you will sacrifice power too. do you have stock internals? for up to 300whp, i think you'll b fine but highly recommend investing in sum head studs instead of a new gasket

Yea I would deff do that, I would put ARP bolts on there when or if I do pull the head off for a new gasket. Maybe Ill just run the stock head gasket till it starts to leak then pull and do the studs/thicker head gasket. I mean 250whp Should be no problem on stock head gasket for now. Am i right or wrong?

Yup ull b all right with stock ones
I'm using one w/7psi 240whp and its running good and my tuner said if I only have boost control and aem fpr I would've got higher number safe @ 9psi so
