Is this worth doing to the turbo manifold or is there a greater possibility that so much heat isolation can stress the manifold eventually making it crack?

It is worth doing. You cut down a tremendous amount of heat in the engine bay, therefore giving some extra power. Basically if you painted the manifold with some sort of corrosive paint then wrap the manifold you will not have the manifold rust out.

Does this apply to all headers or just the turbo manifold? Would a N/A or a SC car benifit from the wrap?

if this is your kit that you care about Do not do it yes unless its' made of inconel then it will crack or diminish over time. there is a bit a differince but not worth the pain. besides they become real ugly

since you are concerned with heat i think a simple heat shield works best. you can use any alumminum sheet, or i used my old cat shield, just made a braket,
and i get compliments on it

Wrap your downpipe, leave your manifold alone. Once downside to using Thermal wrap on street cars is the moisture that can build.

the more heat you keep in the exaust stream the more energy the exaust has, then higher velocity=lower spool up and a more responsive turbo.

do not wrap the exhaust manifold. while it is true that is best to keep heat inside the manifold its not a good idea to wrap it because the manifold itself could overheat to the point of structural failure. personally i think it is better to wrap the ic piping.

I've seen failures. Most failures are from higher HP motors though and engines that have rather high EGT's like modded turbo rotories....321 stainless steel should be used for those application especially if there are exhuast wraps. Lightly modded 4 stroke NA motors with ceramic coated headers or 304 stainless steel (most common stainless) should be fine with header wraps. I might wrap mine just to be able to light off the catalytic converter earlier and to keep it hot during long idle periods.
