Default Thermal question

Well guys, I ordered my Thermal and my 3" high-flow cat. I got the cat the other day and I am patiently waiting on the exhaust. My question is for the people that already have a Thermal on their turbo'd Si's and Teg's. Is the exhaust loud, quiet, tinny, or what. I had a little Comptech exhaust on there (2 1/4") and you couldn't even hear it even @ 7K RPM. Thanks in advance, Chris

It isn't like "rice" loud is it. Does it atleast have a deep tone to it?

loud, low freq rumble esp when coming off throttle. Continuously loud at over 4000 rpm. I thought i was getting used to it. If anyone else is in the car, you will find yourself apologizing. Thermal will redo your muffler to the stealth edition for no charge and you will lower about 15db if you so like but will increase back pressure.

it's 3" but is it 3" at the cat? or does it shrink down to 2.5 or 2.25? I know the 3" turbo exhaust (no resonator) for the eclipse does this.

Is the loud sound though worth the performance? I don't mind the sound if the performance is there. I'm sure the unsuspecting mustang might mind since he will have to hear it from behind.

Complete 3" from what I understand. I know the Eclipse does this, I use to have a '99 GST but not the Honda to my knowledge.

i just got a kooks custom 3" downpipe, carsound cat and thermal 3" installed. the car pulls MUCH harder and i actually like the way it sounds. i got sad when my car was too quiet. it is not loud or ricey at all. anyone who thinks this setup is too loud, get a nice 10 speed.

It's loud but not excessively loud. I have a 3" inline borla resonator in addition, which probably quiets it down, but my setup is basically the same as yours, 3" carsound and 3" thermal, and sorta semi 3" custom downpipe. (oh yeah and it's a '99 si with a greddy turbo)

The Thermal R&D is louder than the Tanabe RM. The tones difference is that the RM sounds more "airy" (if that makes any sense), and the Thermal is more of a low, deep rumble.

LOUD AS HELL!! But I´ve an supercharger and there is no turbo to quite it down. I installed a 3" carsound cat and a 3" midpipe resonator and now the loudness is okay, but for some of my passengers even too loud.

I´m lucky to have a friend which is a good welder and he do it for onyl a few beers

YEP, it was major welding work.

Do you have your downpipe bracketed up to the engine?

No, but I´ll do it in the winter-time, when my car is sleeping. I had 2 blown downpipe gasket this season. This could be of two reasons. 1) the missing bracket and I know I have loosen 1 bolt of 3 every time and therefore the gasket was burned.
