Default Is there a way to clean the inside of the motor without tearing it down?

ITS SUPPOSED TO SAY "WITHOUT TEARING IT DOWN"

I just picked up a JDM B16 swap and it looks decent except when i pulled my valve cover it was all red inside, like they had been running penzoil through it. I got a small spot and it cleans up pretty easy. BUt i dont wanna have to pull the head and sent it off to have it cleaned. I just dont like having that looking that way. I want it to look like my other heads. Or should i even worry about it?

I want it to look like this

Forced Induction? I'd say leave it til you had a real reason to tear it apart...

If it aint' broke don't fix it man....your just gonna open a potential can of worms. That's just staining from heat and oil...no big deal. Like dude said, don't worry about it until you have a reason to tear it apart.

seafoam cleans really well. but it might get particles in your head which potentially might cause piston problems. but hey when i blew my head and had it rebuilt my block was super clean.
