If all they sell is the bare block, I guess that makes it kinda hard to screw up your order, right?

I don't remember what I was watching or what I was reading, but something I remember hearing someone is going to start offering Honda crate motors, I could have sworn I heard something about that. Wish I could remember where I heard it though...

Do they put in a disclaimer saying that they are not legal for use with NHRA?

Per NHRA tech:
Production means production. Beginning in 2004 the factories are not allowed to run special "catalog" block or head castings like they do on the domestic side. So if GM or Mopar wants a better block, they will have to introduce it into a production car, and make at least 5,000. (This is different than domestic series, where only requirement is that a block have an OEM part number and a logo on it to be legal.) Also, the Dart block was never accepted, so it is not legal in any pro heads up class, even for 2003.

maybe off topic, but there are many places(true performance tunign shops), that sell "crate motors". We have sold a few of those. What the customer wants is a straight bolt in set when it arrives to their house and thats what we give them. All gaskets and belts are installed and the head is torqued down to specs. Even swap mounts, spark plugs to plug wires are included.

i think its great if they start gettn honda crate motors...all that does is ellevate the competitiveness and inspire more ingenuity. when they start building cast parts, its gonna be cheaper for us to race..in the long run. factory parts are gonna get scarce in the upcoming yrs. go evolution

Actually mass production can be the jobless mans best friend. Maybe we can see a end to paying $600+ for only 4 rods and $450+for 4 pistons The cheaper I can get stuff the better, if they sold DART blocks at Target that would be cool with me and even cooler for my bank account
