TDO4HL-16T
Hey guys, I'm working on my custom turbo setup one piece at a time and buying the things I know I can use without worrying about compatibility...
I have a question.....
I can get a TDO4HL-16T turbo from a 98' Volvo s70 (my bros upgrading to the 19T) for pretty cheap. I know it's kinda small but would spool quickly for my low boost setup ( 6-7psi ). However, would it be hard to find a manifold? Would I need to buy one and get the proper flange welded on?
Or...... I could spend a little more and go for something like a garret T3 which would be easy to find a manifold for.... Either way i'll be going for a custom downpipe.
Rest of the planned setup:
Hondata s100 w/ boost option
RC 440cc injectors
PWR fmic 18x6x3 core
Custom stainless Downpipe w/ flexpipe (lengthed to get rid of cat)
Manifold (see above)
Custom IC pipes (probably mild steel powercoated)
Stainless braided oil lines
Undecided on BOV

Re: TDO4HL-16T (Blackack26)
Where did your brother get the 19T? I have been looking all over for one of those. If I were you get the 19T. Greddy is using that turbo for the 96-2000 Civic turbo kits. If the 18T compressor map is any indication the 19T will be amazing.

GReddy told me they're including the 16T, not the 19T.

Re: TDO4HL-16T (untensadude)
FYI the wrx TD04L-13G is really a TD04L-13T, funny, that very few people who that.
Volvo's kick *** ( no really ). They come factory with hard IC piping and pimp ICs.

Re: TDO4HL-16T (89dxhunchback)
I believe he's buying the turbo from somewhere in Vancouver.... I have decided on an Inline pro mani (T3 flanged). It will be MUCH easier too upgrade down the road if I need too....
And yes Volvos do kick ***, those engines can handle lot's of boost! The internals are bomb proof...
here's a pic of my brothers T-5 for you volvo lovers BTW it is a 5-speed! Rare!
