Default tail wastegate install Q's.

I have a 38 mm tail wastegate and my concern is that the port that bolts to the t-manifold has a ring on the wastegate that sticks out and and does not sit flush with the flange. Is this ring supposed to be like that or something is wrong?

Sorry for the rucky questions, but im new to the dark side, I also searched with no luck.

all you do is put the fire ring in the wg and tighten down. thats simple it will compress in when you tigheting it down

forgot to add that small side goes to the WG and the other side goes to manifold

On the base of the wastegate correct? It's like a small "ring" and sits just below the valve.

is it that?
