t4 wheel into t3 housing
Sorry for the retarded question, but I have to post this for my retarded freind. He has a t3 turbine housing and a P-trim wheel for a t4 turbine, They company he ordered from sent the wrong one and he is on a time crunch I guess. So he's going to take it to the machine shop to get the wheel ground down a few mm so it will fit the housing. What will the downsides be to this?

Re: t4 wheel into t3 housing (n20hatch)
Dont do it. Get the housing to fit the wheel, not the wheel to fit the housing. If you do that you also messing up the balance of the wheel and shaft.

Re: (n20hatch)
well, they have to machine it out... which is very labor intensive and if done wrong... will totally **** up a turbine housing.... tell your buddy to wait for his housing.... trust me, you'll be better off in the end

In most cases yes, but not always. it really depends what turbine wheel your dealer ordered. In some cases dealers dont even know.
