The 18G flows about 41 lbs/min the T3/T4...there are a variety of them ... the "standard" T3/T4e with the .60 a/r compressor housing/.63 a/r exhaust housing & 57 trim / stage 3 exhaust wheel flows about ~50 lbs/min. Lags a bit more but it hits harder and creates more power per psi.

There are MANY differences between the T3/T04 hybrid turbocharger and the 18G. In fact, There are differences between the Greddy 18G and the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries 18G.

I'll see if I can break this down quickly and accurately. People.. Please join in if you feel it's necessary.

Greddy 18G: T25 exahust turbine Flanged. Internally wastegated to about 7psi. 640cfm turbo, max capacity is about 400 crank hp or so. There have been some concern about the use of the wastegate when it comes to higher boost applications. The wastegate flapper is about 32mm. Compressor cover is slightly larger than a T04B, which explains its higher flow capacity than the MHI unit.

The 2nd Gen DSM turbos are also a T25 garrett turbo, but utilize a mitsubishi flanged exhaust housing system, commonly referred to as a Garrett/Mitsu Hybrid.

MHI 18G: This one utilizes an entirely different naming system that is particular to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The turbine is 7 square cm radius flanged, using a circular radius flanged housing. (this is not compatible w/ other Garrett systems unless an adapter is used. The wastegate flapper is about 32mm and utilizes a TD04 Compressor housing, which is used in similar applications like the 16g and Big 16G... about 620cfm or so due to the housing difference.

T3/T04: This is actually the general name of about 20 different combinations of turbos from the Garrett family. The T3 comes from the exhaust side used for exhaust flow and characteristics. THe T04 portion measures a type of compressor type and size to help with compressor flow...

For hondas there are obvious advantages of some over others, but all depends upon the supplementary equipment that you use.. You must also look at what is USABLE to YOU, not what's cheap and can be thrown together, just for the sake of being thrown together, and its there... I would have to say the Hybrid T3/T04 would be the better combination out of the 3. The question is which one is right for your goals?

Hope this helped a little.

18g is weak on the Prelude. My friend had it but it lacked the top end power so he upgraded to an Innovative T3/60-1 DBB

I really like my 18G and it still is capable of making close to 375whp(plan to prove that in spring). if you get a good boost controller it will hold boost but that is the key with my controller off it creeps to 12psi with the controller on it holds at where ever I set it(have set it up to 1.1bar and held)

like it has been said it is all in what you want. the 18g has great response but the T3 flanged manifolds have more upgrades out there
