Default t3 good enough for b18b?

I have a chance too get a t3 turbo for 90 bucks and has just been rebuilt.Im wondering if it is sufficent for a b18b.I would like too have 200-250 hp.Not at first but after good fuel management. Is this turbo ok for this?Or should i go with the t3-t4?

A t3 (although you didn't specify what size) will spool like the car were NA on a b18. Transient response will be extremely linear. Sounds good to me, but you're gonna want more power eventually.

I'd realistically need more precise numbers than just the boost level, but ~70-80 more HP than currently.

I am about to run a t3 on my b18b, its not quite done but I will let you know what I put down. Its a t3 from a nissan, 63/60. Also look at other mods besides just the turbo, like fuel management.

70-80 more?Thats horrible. The t3-t4 kits can hit 230 at 9 psi or so.Maybe i wont get it.I wanted too hit at least 200 at 7 psi.Im just gonna be running a vortech fmu, tial bov, tial wastegate, greddy intercooler, bigger injectors if you think it will help.

You said the most important part of the entire equasion...

Different compressor = entirely different story. Also, 230hp is 90more.

Your comparing whp to crank hp.
230whp is roughly 265 crank hp
so roughly about 125 more hp

Why do you think I'm confusing crank hp with wheel hp?

140 + 90 = 230

i have a b18b1 with a T3 "45"....at 4.5 psi, it is 180hp and 166tq to the wheels with many leaks heh.....
bov leak, manifold exhaust leak cuz one of the studs are broken.

my mods are
safc
450 dsm injectors

soo i think around 9psi i would be at 220-230, i know we have different fuel management but we should be around same number maybe.... well hopefully this helps hehe

Oh I don't know....
You never did say whp.
It's just been a long time since I've seen a dyno calculate flywheel hp and not wheel hp.
When most people say they want X amount of hp (230 in this case) they generally want to see that on the dyno sheet so meaning 230whp.
I'm just going on about pointless suff.

sounds like a 14b or a typical turbo off an audi. you should be fine for your goals, even beyond. the question is whether your block can handle it and how to do it properly.

The t3 will work very well on the 1.8 -- remember these turbos came off mostly 2.2l cars from the factory. They still had a 'bit' of lag on those cars, but on ours it's a little worse. On my 1.6 (d) i have 3500rpms of lag. You might get away with 2500? It will be nice.

Man, WTF is your problem. Can't you see I was talking about Double Dragon?! Double...Dragon, bro.

For the 40th time, that turbo will be more than fine on our 1.8l 4cyls whos heads flow more CFM than the 2.3 liter cars that it came on. My XR4Ti when it was stock had lag for about 2200rpm and thatis with more restrictions than I care to mention. This teg will lag for no more than 2800pm.

Now.. what was the big-guys name? Shadow Master? WTF kinda power would someone named "shadow master" possibly have?!
