i was looking to run an s-cover, .82a/r 60-1....but was told by more than one, QUALIFIED, tuners to step up to a .82/.86 a/r SC61

i'll be running a stock head/custom inake manifold/drop ins on stock sleeves, and an h2b kit...going for 400whp on pump..

biggest thing you wanna do is kill that back pressure

I was under the impression that the T3 60-1 was "above" an SC61

look at its compressor map... IIRC it does 65lb/min if you dont plan on making more than 500 whp I think you'll be fine.

You don't think that the T3 60-1 will be able to make over 500whp?!?!

there are graphs here on h-t of people making over 500whp on the 60-1.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by s13-t &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i was looking to run an s-cover, .82a/r 60-1....but was told by more than one, QUALIFIED, tuners to step up to a .82/.86 a/r SC61

whats this .82 or .86 ?.82 is a t3 and .86 is a t4 theres a huge difference between those 2 housings i think you need to talk to some different QUALIFIED tuners if they are giving you that big of a margin in exhaust housings

no Im not saying you cant make over 500, but dont expect to make 600. I was giving him a rough estimate of what he can REALISTICALLY make with at least a .63 housing. so if he was expecting more power...or wasnt going to use anything of the 500whp, then he might as well find a different turbo.

I would suggest the .82AR t3/60-1. Things you should know... Turbonetics t3/60-1 is rarely stocked with the .82AR...all turbonetics turbo's are 5 bolt discharges. Precision turbine housings will not fit on turbonetics turbo's. my suggestion... order a garrett with the right combination....and wait.

AF-Performance tells me they have the T3 60-1 .82 in stock.....only reason why I'm curious (not trying to cause a fight) is because I'm about to buy a 60-1. What is your opinion on the .82?? Is this the one you were talking about when you said it wouldn't make 600 or was that on the .63 trim?

I have a two liter ls/vtec. Keep in mind, this day on the dyno was 100+ degrees during July in Florida. The top two are race gas at 25lbs and the bottom two are pump at 15lbs.

Since then, the engine has received a set of ITR cams, 1000cc injectors, and some Tony Palo tuning. The car made about 50 more hp from the cams on pump. On race gas...we'll just say the clutch is a little maxed out. It won't hold anymore than 530hp. Hoping for 550-600 with the new clutch.

KEEP IN MIND. This is the 60-1 hifi turbo (which is "supposed to be 10% less efficient than the 60-1)

Agreed, what was the a/r?? Hmmm so I won't be buying the hifi version then haha...I definitely want 400 on pump and 550+ on race gas, and I like the 5000-5500rpm spool

2 3/4” inlet, 2” discharge. It's an awesome turbo. My brother-in-law really appreciates it too (put a car length on his 03 lingenfelter super charged Z06).

the peak boost guys say the turbo is good for 575whp and Mase has some 600whp dyno sheets of the 60-1

I just got a T3/60-1 with .63ar hotside and S cover. it is ball bearing though so spool will be a bit faster. I will post sheets once we get the set up on the car and tuned

ive had 3 turbo ive used so far on my h22

i used a t3/t04b, it was ok... spooled the fastest out of all 3 ive had but the power was eh

then a t3 60-1... spooled a lil later than the turbo above, made better power... but i think there was something wrong with mine... i only made 300whp at 15psi or so

then now i have a gt3561e... this beats them all... spools about the same as the 60-1 but makes alot of power. i made 491whp @ 17psi inside a 106* heat in the shop and like 90% humidity.... we were sweating like crazy when my car was getting tuned

all this was on pump gas
