Default t25 vs t28

Ok I did a search in the forced induction and civic forum and didnt find the answer im really looking for so here we go..

I am a first time booster and looking to buy my turbo.. I have a couple friends boosted on t25's from dsm/eclipse and seems to be the popular choice. I also notice t28's selling for around the same price if not sometimes cheaper which has me thinking now.

I need to know the differences in these two turbo's other then the t28 can boost higher. What is spooling time difference? Are the flanges etc the same? I am going to be using a hf manifold with a adapter plate. Would the t28 bolt upto the t25 adapter plate? Are the oil/water line fittings different sizes? Any other differences between turbo's or that will affect my setup would be appreciated as I dont really know too much about turbo just what I can pickup on these forums.

I am only planning on running 8-10 psi on my stock d16z6.

The dsm t25 does not use the same flange as the Garrett T28.

The T28 is a Garrett T25 turbine side with a T3 compressor side....wheel size will depend. How much WHP are you looking for and on what fuel managment?

Well have not really thought about how many WHP i want to go for right now I just know im looking to run 8-10psi on my stock internals and going to just chip the ecu and get someone to do the tuning for me. T25 seems to be the most commonly used turbo for this kind of setup on civics..

A Garrett T25 will be the easiest to work with, and the Garrett T25 flange will give you the opportunity to upgrade later with the same manifold and whatnot.

SR20DET's have Garrett flanged T25's, it should be able to do 8-10 psi on a D16 with no problem at all. It won't have the top end rush of something like a big T3/T04E, but it'll outspool something like that by a mile and give you a nice torquey powerband.

I have a T25 off my SR20DET that I'll probably be selling sometime in the near future. Just need to get one compressor inlet flange off my GT28R so it'll be a more "complete" set and easy to bolt up and go.
