rebuilt y5(vtec-e) head.. he offered the head and his help with the labor for $200. my question is
compared to the z6 head will i lose some power, and is that price is right? thanks in advance

My z6 head had over 160k on it when I put a comp 59300 springs and retainers in with NO rebuild.... it's still in great shape at over 200k. It's been benched for a while but I'm planning on slapping it right back on for my turbo build without rebuilding it.

Just inspect the cam and followers for wear, if it looks fine it is. If you want you could do springs and retainers but theres really no need...

How many miles?

Oh yes it is definately better lol.. Mainly because the way that the whole Vtec and head works completely, I believe it's like 2 valves per cylinder till you hit a certain rpm, then it comes to 4 valves and then your vtec kicks in after that. The z6 head flows better too.

After you get everything ordered and ready, post some pics so we can check it out. :D

yeah that should still be ok, are you planning on building the motor and going for high boost? Your head should be good unless you're going for high boost, then you should still do some headwork then.

8psi only, no more than 200whp...i got a b18b1 layin around that eventually i'm gonna build
and boost to around 12psi maybe 14psi with a mild build...my 2011 goal is to have 250+whp
-although i may try and sell the b18 cuz i wanna stick with the single slammers, we'll see.

Lol, I have a buddy who has a single cam turbo's also, he is boosting 10psi on stock head and internals, he has 450cc injectors, and an upgraded clutch. I tried to talk him into building a b series, but he said he wants to stick to the single cam and build a vitara build. I accepted it and told him cool. I am trying to finish building my LS/Vtec Turbo build, I was thinking to try and have around 350whp but now that i'm still buying everything, i'm probably going to try and get a little over 400whp. I hope you have fun doing yours though, I know I finally boosted my b16 and am very satisfied with that until I can get my motor done and go with more boost.

btw, what set up are you going to have turbo wise?? I am wanting to upgrade my turbo because i am currectly running an ebay t3/t4 50 trim turbo, but it is doing ok for right now, everyday i'm checking it to make sure it's ok and everything lol.. I am going to get a better turbo manifold also when I get the money.

Here is my car, I finally decided to just throw the kit on my stock b16 till I finish my other motor. When are you going to be doing yours?
