im thinking about making a fuel surge tank but while looking at everyone elses setups i notice everyone has a feed pump to the tank , then another (bigger) pump from the surge tank to the fuel rail. my question is can i just use 2 walbro pumps in the fuel tank to feed the surge tank , then a hose from the surge tank to the rail ?

 

no, the way you want to do it will have no positive effects. When and if pressure drops it will drop through the whole system.

A surge tank is not necessary with a proper high hp fuel system setup, and a proper high hp setup does not need to consist of one.

Could you explain you setup and reason for a surge tank
