Default Is this supposed to happen?

i just swapped in a b16a into my 92 cx hb. i'm running a LS transmission have i/h/e and i don't have the b16 ecu so i'm running a LS ecu and a v-afc. well any ways i started it up and i get a CEL. but i decided to race it anyways. i call my fren over and he has a 90 integra LS i/h/e and crower stage 2 cams, nothing wild. well we race over and over and come 3rd gear he just floats by me like nothing. i lowered my vtec and the best i did was pull in 1st and 2nd but come 3rd i get murdered again. is it cause of my trans? or my ecu? wats goin on?! i have a turbo setup for this motor but i might not even bother to put it, i'm frustrated.

it sounds like when you sent to the LS ecu you didnt wire up something to activate the vtec. You are probably throwing a code 22 if i remember correctly. If you did wire it in well then your tuning is just way off.

Do LS Ecu's even have the ability to activate Vtec... LS engines are Non-Vtec..

Wait. You have a B16a. Plus an LS ECU?

Am I missing something here? What are you using to activate the VTEC?...the VAFC? (didn't know you could do that?)

BTW, find out what the CEL is and we can help you diagnose the problem.

the problem is the ls computer with a freaking 6800 rev limiter, no vtec fueling or timing and you using the vafc to activate vtec, that is the main problem. the other is the long geared trans.
