Feedback About Apexi Turbo Kit for D16Z6
I was just wondering if anyone had some feedback about this turbo kit. Good or Bad. If you own the kit, what kind of #'s have you dynod and ET's from the drag strip? I've also been searching the net trying to find the contents to the optional fuel system upgrade but havn't had much success. Thanks!

Re: Feedback About Apexi Turbo Kit for D16Z6 (Civic_95_Si)
had it for 5-6 months so far and haven't had a problem with the kit yet...still pretty damn fast for sohc
can take out gt mustangs and stuff just at 5psi so i highly reccomend the kit if you got the extra cash to pay over the greddy...
but if you really want some power the money that this kit costs could buy you a b-series swap and would leave you room for some serious power...i'm a big fan of sohc turbos but realisticly i think you should consider a swap and a turbo too.

better than Greddy. Biger intercooler. looks better
gotta remove rebar to fit IC
power output potential - Apexi
like above, I'd do the B series engine swap instead, then put in a tubo (like I already did)

Re: Feedback About Apexi Turbo Kit for D16Z6 (maztur)
This isn't a "Turbo or Swap" post, so please don't go there. Its alittle late for all that. I already have a 3" cat back and I've already bought the APEXi FMIC. I was juts looking for any extra info on the turbo kit itself. Come out with your #'s, I won't tell . Thanks again!

Any info you want to share about the kit. All kinds of information is good. Up-sides and Down-sides. I'm just trying to learn what I'll be looking forward to/looking out for...etc.

sorry if i was taken wrong or made you mad for suggesting to the swap thing
also whoever has this kit as well or will be getting it...does anyone know if the greddy type s b.o.v bolts right onto the flange or do you need to weld on a new plate.

Re: Feedback About Apexi Turbo Kit for D16Z6 (leadtrum)
oh yea
upsides:
-spool time? pssh try 5lbs at 3100rpm [ i can power brake at a full 5-6lbs and hold it at launch
-awesome fit and quality
-no need to weld oil pan
downsides:
-cost
-fuel system leaves something to be desired...5lbs on it is fine but if you want a little more i suggest either goin hondata * or goin v-afc hack like me.
-no b.o.v
-if you get the apexi intercooler then say hello to cutting the hell out of things to make that sucker fit with your front end, safety beam, etc.

.
.
I'm going w/ the Twin chamber BOV that A'PEXi has.
I agree, do waste w/ the fuel kits, go Anything but FMU and check vavles.

Yes, one cool thing about the APEXi turbo kit is that it uses an IHI turbo. There are MANY variants of IHI turbos. WRX guys upgrade to IHI or PE series turbo. Since all the flanges are the same, you can easily upgrade your turbo to a larger one and it'll bolt right up. If I were you, I'd look into gettting a PE1820 for big power.

o ok. well the greddy kit suggests to weld and comes with flanges that bolt together as well. i just used a piece that fits on an earl's swivel joint, and has two nuts that clamp the oil pan wall from both sides. then there are teflon rings on each side between the nuts and oil pan. all u gotta do is got a hole drilled and screw on. ok, sorry for getting so far off topic
